Nice day for pictures…so I took some!
But first,…here’s the line-up:
Craftland!: December 1st-22nd, Providence, RI
SF Bazaar Bizarre!: December 15th, County Fair Building, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. I have been invited to do a spinning demo during the event and will be provided with a Little Gem and some merino to play with…thank you, Jamie!!!
and for those of you local to the Brattleboro area:
River Garden Holiday Craft Fair: November 23 at the River Garden on Main St.
Brattleboro Area Farmer’s Market Holiday Fair: juried craft fair also at the River Garden on Main Street, December 1st.
things to look at:
Allison…soft black Icelandic wool carded with oodles of sari silk in varying shades of blue, spun evenly and plied with itself, randomly wrapped with strips of sari during plying.
Samantha…coopworth, targhee and a bit of randomness, plus novelty bits…spun bulky and plied with threads. Self-striping.
Iris…nuno felt scarf with lovely merino dyed by
in shades of deep purples and rubies, felted with lime green silk chiffon.
and for the foodies, i bring you:
Quince. holy wow, it’s like eating honeysuckle and ripe peaches all at once. it takes forever to cook them, but so worth the effort…i poached them for about 3 hours in white wine, honey, cinnamon sticks, cloves and peppercorns. oh man, oh man, oh man.
And thank you to my dear customer…you know who you are…for enabling us to go see Robyn in Montreal next weekend. i am a-twitter. i think i will throw yarn at him. and i will try not to spend the whole night worrying about the boy, who will be experiencing his first night ever of being babysat. at two-and-a-half, he’s more than ready, i know, but i’ll probably worry, anyway.-
